why good friday?

This solemn day marks Jesus’ arrest, trial, and crucifixion. Though he suffered greatly, His sacrifice brought salvation to humanity. At 3 pm, gather with us at your nearest Universal Church as we present our families at the foot of the cross.

Good Friday isn’t just another date on the Christian calendar. It’s the day that reminds us of the extraordinary love and sacrifice of the Lord Jesus.

In the hours before His crucifixion, Jesus’ sweat became like drops of blood (Luke 22:44). Imagine the fear, the pain, and the weight of knowing what was coming. Yet, He faced it all. What seemed like defeat became the greatest victory. The Cross, once a symbol of suffering, transformed into a symbol of hope, salvation, and new beginnings.

Having faith in Jesus doesn’t mean life will always be easy. But it does mean He walks with us through every struggle, giving strength when we feel weak, guidance when we feel lost, and peace when life feels overwhelming.

Throughout the Bible, every miracle Jesus performed required faith. People

didn’t wait; they went to Him, reached out, and believed.

Before coming to the Universal Church, my life was in chaos after losing my father at a young age, which led me to leave school early to support my struggling family. I got married. However, I fell into alcohol addiction, a destructive lifestyle, family problems, and deep financial debt. Upon hearing about the Universal Church, I brought my sick son and witnessed his healing. I decided to surrender my life to God and place my family in God's hands, and today my family is restored, there is peace and unity because of my Lord Jesus.

My house was divided, and we struggled with constant debt, and financial stress was great. I began to experience change when I came and understood how to entrust my family in God's hands through prayers and what was being preached. The message challenged me to act. I started a business while still working another job, and as I began applying the Word of God, my family became more united, and my business started to grow. Today, I enjoy the peace in my home, I have a blessed marriage, a successful business, and a transformed life through putting God first.

After a frightening birth experience with my sons and years of family conflict, I, as a mother, saw my household fall into serious problems as my youngest son became involved with gangs and drug dealing. Although they attended the Universal Church, my sons initially ignored the guidance given, leaving me feeling helpless. When I chose to pray consistently for my family and become a source of blessing, God transformed their lives, my sons reconciled with each other and their father, my youngest left his harmful lifestyle, and today my family lives in peace and joy. - Manuela Guimaraes

What will you do for your family?

Pause for a moment and think about your family. Do you need peace at home? Healing in your relationships? Protection? Strength? Or are you praying for the salvation of someone you love?

Whatever the need is, bring it to God.

This Good Friday, we invite you to come to the foot of the Cross, the place where forgiveness is found, lives are restored, and new beginnings start.

Everyone is welcome. Bring your family, invite your friends, and anyone searching for direction. One step of faith can change everything.

You don’t have to carry your burdens alone. On this day, people everywhere will gather in Universal Churches with one purpose: to cry out to God for their families.

Because with God, no situation is impossible.

“Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”
