The Campaign

What is a sacrifice?
Sacrifice was not only confined to the people of Israel, or to the UCKG HelpCentre. Sacrifice has always existed, since it is an exact demonstration of faith in God in those who believe.

For example: The prophets of Baal made their sacrifice by cutting themselves, so that fire would come down from heaven. There are people who wish to achieve a purpose, and for this, they make promises of walking many miles on their knees, no matter where they are, therefore, demonstrating a faith in God whom they believe in. Those who offer food and drink to the spirits are also making a sacrifice.

Sacrifice is a demonstration of the faith of a person, for this reason, sacrifice has the communion between the faithful and their God (look in the bible: when a person made a sacrifice they were associating themselves with those who sacrifice. (1 Corinthians 10).

From the moment a person makes a sacrifice to God, in this way, they are associating themselves with God Himself. Sacrifice is an extraordinary effort, to achieve the greatest benefit, sometimes giving up they own will and interests.

In secular life everyone makes their sacrifices, like for example: the rigorous diets to obtain a better figure; working extraordinary hours, including, weekends to have a professional position; spend many years in college so that, in the future, achieving financial stability or saving money instead of going on vacation, are acts that require sacrifice.

Our spiritual life is no different, a person who wants to be saved, has to sacrifice their own will, they have to forgive, fast, because they are sacrifices to achieve a greater communion with God.

God Himself, when He wanted to rescue mankind, used the way of sacrifice, giving His only Son, for all of us. When the Lord Jesus was speaking with Peter about His sacrifice, Peter tried to dissuade Jesus by saying: “Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!’’ But Jesus turned around, and said to Peter: Get behind me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men” (Matthew 16:22-23).

This is exactly what happens, evil does not want the person to sacrifice, because he knows that, if he/she sacrifices God will be rewarded.

Sacrifice is a test directly with God, in which a person says: “If I sacrifice to God, so He must give me an answer. Now, if He does not answer me, I will be aware that the God to whom I sacrifice is not God.”

When you sacrifice you demonstrate your faith, and this has to bring results.
