UCKG Help Centre Held the "Say No to Drugs" Campaign
Something that is worrying the communities in New Zealand is the increase of criminality such as robbery, drug abuse, addictions and domestic violence, and that is the reason why recently the UCKG HelpCentre promoted an Event to the community called “Say No to Drugs Campaign”.
The Pastors asked God to set free those who have addictions, sickness, who has misunderstanding in their families and people with other problems.
25 Groups were present, all from different cultures and nationalities from the islands around New Zealand. They signed up to participate and show to the community their talents.
All these things were done for no cost, with love, care and dedication from the Assistants and Volunteers of the UCKG HelpCentre. The first place winner of the Event was the Victory Youth Group, who presented a drama skit called “Set Me Free”. The amazing performance of the VYG amazed the crowd and called the attention of the judges.
There were also trophies for the second, third and fourth place winners, and all the participants also received a prize and they had the opportunity to show their talents in singing and performing.
We could see the happiness of the young people during and after the Event. Our main objective is to show the young people that it is possible to be happy without drugs, alcohol, and without any addictions. This happiness comes when they decide to surrender their lives to God.
Later on, the Pastor asked to the audience individually: What is the greatest power in this world? God? Devil? The Economy? The nature? The human being with his intelligence? Many of them answered saying, God, and some said, the devil.
Then the Pastor explained a passage in the Bible where speaks about Prophet Elisha and that he was in a situation where God had to honour him and answer him. But for that, Elisha had to take a decision: Either God is, or He is not.
“The greatest power in this world is the power of YOUR decision” said the Pastor.
What you decide today, will reflect in your life tomorrow. That is why you must take the right DECISION. How many people DECIDED to get married, but then later DECIDED to get divorced and today they carry wounds in their heart and they are unhappy?
How many people DECIDED just to try the drugs and today they are slave of it? Afterwards, the Pastor prayed so that the people who were present would have the right direction for their lives. This was the first Event of many more to come that we had to help the young people of our community and help the society of this country to have a better generation in the future. For this purpose the UCKG HelpCentre is here in New Zealand.
