Many people live their lives anyway, doing what they want. Many of them steal, lie, commit adultery, involved with addiction, prostitution and try to take advantage of others. These and other attitudes make people slaves of sin.
There is no way to hide or escape from what is written: "Whatever man plants, he shall also reap." The Word of God is clear and says "There are ways that it seems to be good in the eyes of man, but its end leads to death." Sin has destroyed the lives of many people, including Christians.
We find numerous Biblical passages, beyond our consciousness, showing us what we should do and what not to do. The Word of God guides us and leads us to life, if there is a sincere repentance and the decision to no longer live enslaved by sin.
The true repentance brings to us a feeling of shame for what we have done wrong against oneself, against others and even against God. We start to hate the old life and when we want a transformation in our lives we take an attitude of not committing the same mistakes of the past again. Only through the baptism in the water we receive this forgiveness, something that no religion and no one can give us, only the Lord Jesus Christ.
In order for us to make this decision and live away from sin, we need faith. Faith and new birth will make us overcome the old person and establish a new life with God, away from the wrong things, without emotion or remorse. Because those who live according to emotions, they don’t take into consideration the reason, and those who feel remorse fall back again into the same mistakes as before.
But those who sincerely repent, they are baptized in the water and come to rely on pure intelligent faith, constantly seeking the new birth to establish their new lives after baptism in water, day after day, towards eternal salvation.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” 2 Corinthians 5:17
That is what must happen, what is old should be forgotten and you must give way to a new mind, a new heart, a new life.
"We must hate sin, because it puts away the person from the Creator,"
