In no uncertain terms, God stressed how much He wanted His people to acknowledge what He had done for them. Why the emphasis?
We human beings are so quick to forget – especially good things. After years of serving God, it is easier to think about what we are still lacking than remember all He has done for us so far. And forgetfulness generates ingratitude.
As The Universal Church celebrates its 33rd anniversary on July 9th, we are calling all pastors, assistants, staff, and church members to acknowledge what God has done in their lives.
Acknowledgment Night will challenge us to look back on our journey with God and remember where He has rescued us from. It will be a night of worship and praise, of recognizing we are nothing without Him.
We hope you will come and join us. The Lord’s Supper will also be served during the vigil.
Acknowledgment Night Universal Church 33rd Anniversary Friday, July 9th starting at 7pm
Before entering the Promised Land, the Lord gave this warning to the Israelites:
When the Lord brings you into the land He promised your fathers and you inherit large and beautiful cities that you did not build; and you live in houses full of good things that you did not fill; and you draw water from wells you did not dig; and you eat grapes and olives from vineyards and olive groves you did not plant; when you have enjoyed it all and had your fill — watch that you don’t forget the Lord your God who brought you out of the stinking life of bondage you had in Egypt. (Deuteronomy 6.10-12)
